Restaurant Week at O’Hare & Midway Int’l Airports

OHare restaurant week

Here’s hoping you have a good long layover at O’Hare or Midway International Airports coming up – and that you’re hungry when you land.

Both airports are participating in Chicago Restaurant Week with a special Airport Restaurant Week event running from January 30 – February 12, 2015.

50 restaurant at O’Hare and 20 at Midway will highlight their house specialties and feature dishes that are not regularly offered on the menu – such as Deep Dish CheeseCorn from Garrett Popcorn Shops (only at O’Hare!) and Chicken Kebobs at Midway’s Pegasus on the Fly.

In many spots there will also be discounts offered on certain menu items as well.

Want to plan ahead? Here’s a link to the pamphlet listing all the participating restaurants.

Restaurant Week at an airport is a great idea, of course. And unlike Restaurant Week in most cities, the one at PHL Airport continues through the weekend.

But a week is so short.

And your travels may not take you through PHL.

Never fear. Throughout the entire month of October, HMS Host has brought the restaurant week concept to selected restaurants in airports around the country. See the list of participating airports and restaurants here

Restaurant Week – in an airport

Many cities host a Restaurant Week or two during the year when special two or three course menus are offered for a set price at a wide variety of dining venues throughout town. It’s a great opportunity to test out a restaurant that may be out of your price range the rest of the year and a great excuse to go ahead and eat that dessert because, well, it’s included…

The Philadelphia Marketplace at Philadelphia International Airport has embraced the concept and is hosting its 2nd annual Restaurant Week at the airport October 22 – 29th.

During Restaurant Week at PHL, you’ll be able to have a pre-selected, three-course menus for $20 per person at one of these (and perhaps some other) airport restaurants:

· Cantina Laredo (Terminal E)

· Chickie’s and Pete’s (Terminal A West & Terminals C, D & E)

· Cibo Bistro & Wine Bar (Terminals A West & B)

· Jack Duggan’s Bar (Terminal A East)

· Jet Rock Bar & Grill (Terminals B & D)

· Legal Sea Foods (B/C Connector)

· Sky Asian Bistro (Terminal C)

· Vino Volo (Terminal A West and B/C & D/E Connectors)

Some of the menus are listed on the PHL Markeplace website (look under promotions).
