Alaska Airlines launched daily nonstop service between Seattle and London Heathrow on Thursday evening with a gate celebration at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) that featured a string quartet, tea and scones, celebratory speeched and a ribbon cutting.

The new long-haul flight is on one of Alaska’s wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and is scheduled to depart SEA each day at 9:40 p.m. and arrive at LHR at 3:05 the next day.
