Flight attendant fashions on display at the Museum of Flight

Seattle’s Museum of Flight will debut a new exhibition, Runway to Runway, on April 25 featuring the styles and stories of flight attendant uniforms through the years.

Included are more than 100 items ranging from classic suits and skirts, to capes and go-go boots, hats, handbags and scarves.

The exhibit also has it’s own special soundtrack and is more than a simple fashion review.

According to the museum notes, “each uniform reflects the person who wore it, the purpose behind its design, and the responsibilities carried out while it was worn and pulls back the curtain on the illusion of style to glimpse the racial barriers, sexism and ignored workers’ rights that challenged flight attendants on every flight.”

The exhibit runs from April 25, 2026 through Jan. 18, 2027 and is included with regular museum admission. To see if for free, plan to visit the museum on the first Thursday of the month when the museum is open to the public for free between 5 pm and 9 pm as part of the free First Thursdays for museums in Seattle.
