Friday roundup: Places we want to go

Amsterdam: to see Andy Warhol textiles

We’d go to Amsterdam at the drop of a hat and spend our days touring museums. (And we have).

An exhibition coming up at the Cobra Museum of Modern Art in Amstelveen, north of the city, would be high on the list for our next visit.

From April 24 through September 6, 2026, the museum is hosting Andy Warhol, The Textiles, an exhibiton that includes more than 60 of the pop artist’s textile patterns from the 1950s and early 1960s.

To the moon

NASA is aiming for an April 1 launch date for the rocket and spacecraft that will take four astronauts around the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission.

Viewing packages at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida are sold out. But there are plenty of other places to watch in real time. This guide, from Talk of Titusville, for example, offers a great list of alternative viewing site on the Space Coast.

Many aviation and aerospace museums around the country will also be holding viewing parties to watch the launch, including Space Center Houston, Seattle’s Museum of Flight, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL and the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas.
