Airport Amenity of the Week: SEA’s tiny hats

We’re a wee bit late in declaring a winner for last week’s Airport Amenity of the Week.

But we settled on these walnut-sized SEA keychains.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) recently held a preview of the retail, food and beverage and amenities that travelers will find when the massive Concourse C expansion opens later this spring.

And we were charmed by the tiny hard hat keychains and (bonus) tiny foam hammers shared with attendees. We hope they’ve saved a big bag of these for opening day.

Here’s what’s coming to SEA Concourse C

SEA’s Concourse C upgrade will add more than 200,000 square feet f space and plenty of services, dining and retail, as well as an enclosed outdoor viewing deck.

While Seattle will get its first Chili’s restaurant with the opening of a branch at SEA (the only other Washington Chili’s is way out in Spokane), most of the new dining and retail shops are local.

Full activation should take place in time to impress all the fans heading to Seattle for the FIFA World Cup games in June and all the folks heading to Seattle to board cruises to Alaska all summer long.

The new retail includes Seattle Macaron Co., Port of Subs, Olympia Coffee (they’ll have coffee cocktails too), Nanny’s NW BBQ, Great State Burger, Bite Society (cookies in gift-worthy tins), Wanderlust (cocktails), Buffalo Wild Wings and Bell St. Landing, which will stock plenty of locally sourced snacks and gifts.

Bonus:

Coming to the Central Terminal at SEA as part of the Concourse C expansion is Taco Street, which serves up authentic food from the Chihuahua region of Mexico. They secured a SEA small business incubator spot that includes a fully built out location, including the kitchen. Nice!
