Can Philadelphia Int’l Airport snag a Guinness World Record for cheesesteak?

National Cheesesteak Day is celebrated each year on March 24.

And in honor of the holiday, Cheesesteak Week returns to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) from Monday, March 23, through Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Throughout the week, passengers traveling through the airport will be able to enjoy exclusive cheesesteak-inspired creations, specialty meal deals and interactive activations celebrating the city’s favorite sandwich.

This year, the airport and its concessions program are trying something new.

On Tuesday, March 24, they will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the “Longest Line of Cheesesteaks.”

The airport claims to have more restaurants serving cheesesteaks under one roof than any other single location in Philly.

And on March 24 all the restaurants at PHL with cheesesteaks on their menus — Chickie’s & Pete’s, Geno’s Steaks, Jim’s South St. Famous Cheesesteaks, Passyunk Steaks, Tony Luke’s, and more — will work together to assemble a continuous line of authentic Philadelphia cheesesteaks – as defined by Guinness.

The mega cheesestake line is expected to stretch throughout the connector area between Terminals B and C.

A Guinness World Records representative will be on site to verify the count and declare whether or not a new world record is achieved.

As a bonus, after the world record attempt the cheesesteaks prepared for the competition will be served to passengers, participants, and guests.

Good luck, PHL!
