Free ice-skating at Denver International Airport
Here’s a great airport amenity: free ice-skating!
Denver International Airport (DEN) has brought back its free ice-skating rink for a fourth season.
Located on DEN’s outdoor plaza outside the main terminal, the DEN ice skating rink is open from 9 am to 9 pm through January 20, 2026.
No need to travel with your own ice-skates. If you check in at the “Skate Shop” Airstream trailer located near the ice rink, you can to get skate rentals for free.
Not interested in skating? You can also hang out in the outdoor seating lounge.
The ice rink features music daily and host special activities and performances, including Colorado Avalanche Ice Patrol, Denver Figure Skating Club, E-Gals Ice Crew, curling lessons, little tykes’ hockey and more.
The plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is right by the A Line commuter rail station at DEN.

Ice-skating – and curling – at Munich International Airport
As part of its annual Christmas and Winter Market, Munich International Airport also offers ice-skating, along with curling.
While not free, visitors can skate all day on the Munich International Airport ice rink for a fee of €5 (about $5.80 US). Skate rental is available for €5.
On Wednesday, the ice-skating rink turns into an ice disco at 6 pm with an on-site DJ.
For those who want to watch or try curling, there’s a curling rink as well.
