Here’s a quick round-up of what some airports have on tap for travelers flying during the Memorial Day holiday weekend:
Look for 50 glass poppies on stems around the fountain in the Main Terminal at Orlando International Airport.
The poppies are part of a new exhibit called “The Remembrance Poppies” by artist Craig Mitchell Smith and will be on display through November to also honor American servicemen and women on the Fourth of July and Veterans Day.
From Friday through Monday, the shops and restaurants at Miami International Airport will be hosting a variety of entertaining activities, including sand sculpting demonstrations, craft projects for kids, giveaways and photo ops. Check here for times and locations.
And this weekend kicks off a summer-long ‘Putt & Win’ promotion in Terminal B at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
A portable putting green will be set up from 11:00am-4:00pm every Friday through August 30 and travelers who take a swing will be given a scratch ticket for prizes ranging from discounts at airport vendors to free merchandise and food. Look for the putting green in either the center food court or the American Airlines ticketing area. Find more information here.
