
The ad says “unreal offer,” but it’s a real job opening.
To prove that even the worst photographer can capture Iceland’s beauty, Icelandair is hiring a “really bad photographer” who will travel around Iceland on a 10-day paid assignment.
All travel expenses will be covered in addition to a paycheck of $50,000 for photographs, content and participation.
“Zero skills needed. Zero skills preferred,” the application notes, adding that “Your photos may appear in a global campaign, so there’s a chance for some fame, too.”

Applications for Icelandair’s really bad photographer job are due by April 30, 2026.
To enter, you’ll need to answer a half dozen mulitple choice questions about your photography skills, English proficiency and ease in front of a camera. You’ll also need upload a short video (60-seconds max) explaining why your lack of photography skills might make you the ideal candidate.
