Munich Airport has a cool new play area for kids that includes a large toy airplane, a “ball bath,” a slide, a craft corner, toys, books, games, Nintendo Wii and a separate children’s cinema.
Open weekdays from 2 to 8 p.m. and on weekends and holidays starting at 11 a.m. the Kids Playing Area is not only fun – it’s supervised.
Kids can stay in the play area for the first hour for free. After that, it will cost three euros (about US $4) per hour. While their kids are playing, parents can hang out in a lounge that offers free coffee and complimentary Wi-Fi or spend time touring the airport – and the airport shops.
“We want to offer kids a genuine paradise of entertainment,” airport officials say, “yet also give parents the chance to take a stroll through the airport in the knowledge that their children are in good hands.”
Great idea? You bet!
