Souvenir Sunday: sweets in Santiago

I’ve been fortunate to start off the new year with a few days working and exploring in Santiago after flying on LAN Airlines’ first 787 Dreamliner flight from LAX to Santiago.

The city is large and my time here is short, so I plunked down $155 for a five-hour, personalized, fast-paced tour of the city that took me to several different neighborhoods as well as a variety of art, cultural and history museums and markets.

Pretty much every tourist makes their way to Pueblito los Dominicos in search of crafts and souvenirs. And while I was tempted by some of the lovely lapis lazuli jewelry and other handcrafted items, I left empty-handed except for some snacks from the candy stand:

Santiago candy one

Santiago candy two
